September:

Braid Runner:  Thursday September 9, 10AM, fee:  $20.00 plus pattern and fabric. This is a quilt as you go technique table runner that's perfect for making gifts or decorating your tables!  You will need to bring your sewing machine to the class along with pre-cut 2.5" wide strips and borders, lining and batting and fabric marker. http://thumb12.webshots.net/t/63/563/4/50/94/2061450940046404172JtcbvR_th.jpg

Batik Diamonds:  Monday September 13, 10AM.  Class fee:  $20.00 plus fabric and pattern.  This quilt measures 50 x 70 and looks great in Batiks but you can use fabric of choice.  You will need 7 light fat quarters and 7 dark fat quarters (or contrasting fat quarters) and two yards of sashing and border fabric includes binding.  We will be using the technique in the pattern for cutting and sewing the fabric which is considered a fast method you may not have done before.

Love That Print:  Saturday September 25m, 10AM all day, fee is $20.00 plus pattern and fabric.  Another quick quilt to make in time for cuddling this winter! This quilt would look lovely in holiday fabric also!

Strip Poker:  Friday September 24 all day beginning at 10AM. Fee:  $20.00 plus pattern. Join the fun in making a strippy quilt with 2.5 inch wide strips.  Bring your lunch, sewing machine 40 coordinating strips, rotary ruler and cutter.

Beginning Quilting:  Fee $65.00 Tuesday September 7, 14, 21 and 28.  Make a beginner quilt from start to finish.  Machine required along with a rotary mat, rotary cutter, rotary ruler, fabric to make quilt, batting and backing and binding.  Must be able to commit to days listed to complete the class.

Beginning Quilting:  Fee $65.00 Thursday evenings 6 to 8PM, September 23, 30, October 7 and 14.  See the above listed class for requirements.

Chevrons Quilt:  Tuesday September 28, 6 to 8PM, Fee $20.00.  Bring machine, rotary cutter, rotary ruler along 2.5 inch wide fabric which can be cut from fat quarters if you want the small size quilt or make your quilt larger watching it grow with more strips.  This will make a heavy quilt certainly worthy of a cold winter!

Fat Quarter Bingo:  Friday September 10, 6 to 8PM.  Fee:  $5.00  We do not require you purchase your fat quarter's from our shop HOWEVER, we do expect the fat quarter's you play with be of quilt shop quality.  Please, no fabric from chain stores or your collection of pre-purchased fat quarters.  We hope that the winner's are able to take home quality fresh fabric like that all have brought in to play with.  We play five games, the fifth game we give the winner 20 fat quarters which is the same as $50.00 worth of fat quarters.  With this said here are the fat quarter selections for the month of September:

Fabric with bunnies on it, Thimbleberries brand fabric, landscape fabric, dark Batik fabric.

October:

Basic Log Cabin Quilt Making: Learn the basics of making a log cabin quilt.  You may make a table runner or a bed size quilt, this class will get you started on the process.  Two classes, Tuesday October 5 and Tuesday October 12 from 10AM to 12PM.  Class fee:  $40.00. You will need pre-cut strips of contrasting fabrics light and darks measuring 1.5 inches wide and at least 15 inches long. Scraps would work great or if you need a kit cut we can do this for you in advance. 

Fat Quarter Bingo:  Friday October 8, 6 to 8PM.  $5.00.  Play with purchased fat quarters and you could go home a winner of more fat quarters than you came with!  October catagories are:  Things with wheels, Oriental with metallic, only three color fabric, spooky fabric.

Free Motion Machine Quilting: Saturday October 9, 10 to 2PM $50.00 Fee.  Teacher:  Lisa LaPointe. Level:  Intermediate; Familiarity with basic machine quilting on your home machine is expected. Lisa shares with you 12 easy freehand patterns designed to encourage personlization and individuality. Primer in quiting threads and needles.  Lecture and hands on class using your own sewing machine.

Table Graces Placemats:  Saturday October 16, 10AM.  Fee:  $20.00 plus pattern and materials.  Bring your sewing machine for this clever "quilt as you go" table mat.  You will want to make everyone a set for Christmas!

Spooky Mystery Quilt Night:  Friday October 22.  Time:  4 to 9PM.  Can't tell you what you'll make but it will be a quilt top by the time you finish it!  You'll need to bring your sewing machine filled with thread and extra filled bobbins!  Fee:  to be announced.

5 5 5:  Saturday October 23, 10AM to 4PM.  Class fee is $20.00 plus fabric and pattern.  This is a nice quilt for a beginner who has a little experience with cutting because your cutting will be done in advance. The quilt measures 59 inch square. Bring lunch, sewing machine, rotary cutter and ruler.  Learn sub-cutting, strip piecing, pressing, assembling in this quilt. 

Baby Trip Around the World:  Friday October 15, 10AM all day class. Fee:  $20.00 plus fabrics. Using five fat quarters and border fabric, you will be able to make this easy and quick baby size quilt.  Bring lunch, sewing machine, rotary cutter and ruler. Quilt top finished now what do I do class? October 20 4PM to 7PM. This class will be for you, the ones who did not finish your quilt after you made the quilt top because you need to know how to finish it.  It will be individualized because you will bring your un-finished project in for quidance on how to finish it.  Some will need to know how to layer the quilt for quilting and ideas for quilting, others will need to know how to bind the quilt, well, I hope this is how it will go anyway.  You need to sign up for the class in advanced and the fee is $20.00.

Log Cabin Pumpkins:  Saturday October 30, 10AM all day class also Saturday November 6 from 1 to 3PM.  Fee: $20.00 plus kit.  Limit of four in this class please.  Machine required along with rotary supplies for cutting and measuring.  This quilt is a table topper measuring 27 x 36 inches.  The quilt top consists of log cabin pumpkins and pieced maple leaves. 

Hand Applique Primer:  Friday October 29, 1 to 4PM.  Fee:  $25.00.  Learn to hand applique using freezer paper techniques.
